GoodCattery ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website goodcattery.com (the "Site"), a verified marketplace connecting Maine Coon cat breeders with prospective buyers. 1.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, password (stored in hashed form), and account type (buyer or breeder). If you register as a breeder, we also collect your phone number and any profile information you choose to provide.

1.2 Cattery and Breeder Details

Breeders who list a cattery on GoodCattery provide additional information including cattery name, location (city, state, and country), registration organization affiliations (such as TICA or CFA), health testing records, veterinary references, descriptions, photographs, pricing details, and deposit amounts. This information is used for verification purposes and is displayed publicly on breeder profile pages.

1.3 Payment Information

When you place a deposit or make a payment through our platform, payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, Inc. We do not collect, store, or have access to your full credit card number, debit card number, or bank account details. Stripe may collect your payment card information, billing address, and other details necessary to process transactions. 1.4 Buyer Application Information

When you submit an application to a breeder, we collect the information you include in your application, such as details about your household, experience with cats, and any messages to the breeder.

1.5 Usage Data

We automatically collect certain information when you access or use our Site, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, time spent on pages, and other standard usage data. This information is collected through server logs and analytics tools.

1.6 Scam Reports

If you submit a scam report through our community-driven scam database, we collect the information you provide in that report, including entity names, website URLs, and descriptions of suspected fraudulent activity.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Account Management: To create, maintain, and secure your account; to authenticate your identity when you log in; and to provide you with access to your dashboard and account features.
  • Breeder Verification: To verify breeder identities, registration credentials, health testing documentation, and veterinary references as part of our verification process. Verified breeders receive a verification badge displayed on their profile.
  • Payment Processing: To facilitate secure deposit and payment transactions between buyers and breeders through our Stripe integration, including creating Stripe Connect accounts for breeders.
  • Communication: To send you account-related notifications, application status updates, deposit confirmations, verification updates, and other transactional communications necessary for the operation of our services.
  • Scam Prevention: To operate and maintain our scam database, review submitted scam reports, and protect the Maine Coon community from fraudulent breeders and websites.
  • Site Improvement: To analyze usage patterns, diagnose technical issues, and improve the functionality, content, and user experience of our Site.
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes.

3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Stripe: We share necessary information with Stripe, Inc. to process payments and deposits on our platform. Stripe acts as our payment processor and handles payment data in accordance with PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) requirements.
  • Supabase: Our platform is built on Supabase infrastructure, which provides authentication and database services. Your account data is stored on Supabase's secure, managed infrastructure.
  • Between Buyers and Breeders: When a buyer submits an application to a breeder, the application information is shared with that specific breeder. Breeder profiles and cattery information are publicly visible on the Site.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a law enforcement request.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a prominent notice on our Site of any change in ownership or use of your personal information.

  • Payment Security: All payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI DSS Level 1 certified, the highest level of security certification in the payment industry. We never store, process, or transmit cardholder data on our own servers.
  • Access Controls: Access to personal information is restricted to authorized personnel who require it to operate, develop, or improve our services. Row-level security policies are enforced at the database level to ensure users can only access data they are authorized to view.
